Biography

dc dweller. lawyer by training, printer by trade. neither is what pays the bills.

I'm a letterpress instructor at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center where I've been printing since 2008 when I needed a creative outlet as a law student. When I'm not teaching at the studio, or at my full-time job, I'm printing cards and stationery and gifts to share in my etsy shop or local craft fairs.

I use letterpress to combine thoughtfulness, etiquette, and gratitude with a sense of humor. My items, ranging from greeting cards and bookmarks to art prints and custom invitations, are letterpress printed with care on quality paper and inspired by old etiquette books, song lyrics, and life in DC.

I live in Northeast DC and I love it here! Mostly I blog about letterpress at http://www.greymoggie.com but I often ramble on about my sweet husband, our crazy pets, and how much I love my neighborhood.

Grey Moggie is a reference to my cat, Ann Taylor. She is, in fact, a grey cat. She was not named after the clothing retailer; rather her namesake is Judge Taylor's dog in To Kill a Mockingbird. Ann Taylor makes a couple-line appearance in Harper Lee's book and is not seen in the film version.

We also have an orange tabby named Pony and a rambunctious dog named Tick, who was recently kicked out of her training class before it even started. Sigh. Our house is a zoo, which is fitting since I met my husband when we were both volunteering with the Golden Lion Tamarins at the National Zoo in DC.

He cooks wonderful meals for me and used to blog about food at http://www.redwattle.com. Now he spends all of his time with our rambunctious dog.
